Recognition / streamlined routes
UK-specific authorisation route
Apply through the UK-educated healthcare route; assess specialist recognition separately. Applicants in UK training on 31 December 2019, or qualified before 1 January 2021, may have EU/EEA transitional assessment. The training cohort can use its arrangement until the end of 2029.
Other professions
The UK route concerns healthcare authorisation and must not be presented as a veterinary route. Normally B2 Norwegian, Swedish or Danish is required. Eligible transitional applicants do not need B2 evidence for that application, but employers still need effective clinical communication.
Automatic or direct recognition describes a particular qualification procedure. Registration, language, scope, supervision, employment and immigration requirements can still apply. A UK licence or job title alone does not settle the route.

- Match your exact qualification, award date and professional register to the local route.
- Confirm language, supervision, specialty recognition and any assessment requirements.
- Verify the role, employer, training status and written offer.
- Check work rights, housing and the household budget separately.
Recognition of a qualification is not a licence to start work. Registration, scope, employment, language and work rights need separate confirmation.

Each card separates a mapped official source from an authority lookup. A medical-registration route must not be applied to another profession.
